This chapter describes methods relating to the handling and processing of Anopheles mosquitoes captured during malaria vector field studies. Areas covered include the following methods
| 1. | Handling mosquitoes in the field. |
| 2. | Developing assembly-line approaches for specimen processing. |
| 3. | Taxonomically identifying mosquitoes. |
| 4. | Classifying blood-feeding stages, parity, and Christophers’ stages of ovarian development. |
| 5. | Using molecular methods for identifying specific species of mosquitoes belonging to Anopheles species complexes. |
This chapter complements Chapter 1.
