GCG: Fragment Assembly Programs
Abstract
The Fragment Assembly System is a series of related programs that help you assemble overlapping fragment sequences as obtained at the lab bench. Specifically, the programs resemble a small databas system that helps you to achieve six major tasks:
1.  Entering and storage of sequences in a project database (method 1).
2.  Recognition of overlaps (method 2).
3.  Manipulation of aligned fragments (this step and all following: method 3)
4.  Generation and comparison of consensus sequences as determined from aligned fragments.
5.  Display and archiving of aligned sequences.
6.  Determination of the consensus sequence.
