The Fragment Assembly System is a series of related programs that help you assemble overlapping fragment sequences as obtained
at the lab bench. Specifically, the programs resemble a small databas system that helps you to achieve six major tasks:
| 1. | Entering and storage of sequences in a project database (method 1). |
| 2. | Recognition of overlaps (method 2). |
| 3. | Manipulation of aligned fragments (this step and all following: method 3) |
| 4. | Generation and comparison of consensus sequences as determined from aligned fragments. |
| 5. | Display and archiving of aligned sequences. |
| 6. | Determination of the consensus sequence. |
